Bio

I have been playing drums since 1987, starting with the school band in 4th grade.  After a few years I was introduced to the drum set, and my love for playing music grew from being a hobby to becoming a passion.

Studying with Mike Robinson and Jeff Stabley, I began honing my craft.  Influenced by anything and everything, I developed an appreciation for all types of music and found inspiration from artists that include...

Elvin Jones

Miles Davis

Frank Sinatra

Branford Marsalis

Jeff 'Tain' Watts

Kevin Hays

Pat Methany

and many many others!

Once in high school I was invited to join 'Endangered Species', a jazz combo formed with Steve Fieldhouse and Luke Peeling.  About this time I began an after school teaching schedule, educating future drummers.  Realizing I was getting paid to do something I loved, I choose to make teaching and playing the drums my full time job.

I have been very fortunate, and through hard work, gained many accolades.  I have also had the chance to play with many of central PA's finest jazz musicians including Curt Sipe, Steve Meashy, Kirk Reese, Tom Reese, Jeff Stabley, Tim Warfield, Jimmy Wood, Keith Mohler, Dominic Icavone, Scott Nelson, Jay Umble, Steve Fieldhouse, Travis Spurley, Mike Wittrien, Dave Lewis, Ryan Kauffman, Matt Montichio, Matt Hochmiller, Kris Kostoff, Tom Strohman, Jim Miller... and many many others!!

My students have gone on to receive high praise and awards for their playing, and for the past 5 years I have had students make District 7 Jazz Band.
